INTRODUCTION
Snowdrop is a manhwa (korean manga) by Choi Kyung-Ah. It's 12 volumes long and ran in the Korean magazine 'Issue' from 1998 through to 2003. In South Korea, the first volume of the manhwa was published in 1999. Currently it's being translated into English by Tokyopop and, at the time of writing this, volumes 1 through 10 have been released.

Snowdrop is described most often as being a Romeo and Juliet style romantic drama and that's fairly accurate. Oh Hae-Gi and Yu So-Na fall in love without realising that their families have a very dark past together. They then fight to stay together through each volume, past death-threats, arranged marriages and forced separation.

The art in Snowdrop - both colour and black and white - is gorgeous and Choi Kyung-Ah's style is very distinctive. There are also a large number of characters in Snowdrop and all of them have a fair amount of backstory and relatively un-stereotypical personalities. This means that the story isn't just about Hae-Gi and So-Na's angst and makes the story more three-dimensional (rather than being just will they/won't they?).

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Choi Kyung-Ah was born on 20th September 1969. She, unfortunately, doesn't have a webpage (as far as I know). Her other works include Aroma, Akashik Record, Love, come here! and most recently BiBi. I don't think any of them have been translated into English yet. She is married and has a young son called Ji-Ho.
